If only "Goody's" camera shop could have held out for when film was in style again.

I first posted an image from this outing and scene on Aminus3 in September 2004. That was 20 YEARS AGO! Where does the time go?

Whats funny is that it sparked a discussion about whether digital photography can even be called real "Photography" or something else. Now film is back in style and we are having the same debate about AI generated images and whether it should be called photography or not.

Nice nostalgic archive on this early photographic find. AI not to speak of, I'm already wondering about the excessive evolution of post-processing, which fundamentally alters the reality of photos! We can find it on Aminus.

@Gérard Flayol: True, yes, though looking back we can probably trace things like paintings vs photography, B&W vs Color, Film vs Digital, Natural photos vs over-edited photos, and now "AI Photos" vs photos made by a camera. I guess there is always the old and new and something in between.

I love wall signs that are more like phantom signs, but this wall is still in great shape (from 2004). Who knew that Kodak would have such a "backseat presence" today? A great find for the prompt.

@Steven: Thanks Steven, this one was also from 2004 but I saw that the sign was preserved as a historic landmark up until recently when they had a fire in this building and I'm not sure if it survived that or not.

My first cameras were all Kodak. How wonderful these one hour shops were in those days. Truly a nostalgic image.

Far be it from me to rekindle the film/digital debate.
The main thing is to be able to continue taking photos and since 2004, we have had the chance to see that film is not dead.
Near me, you can easily find black and white or color films.

Great look back in time, and some very valid questions. I think film will come into its own again (it already is). It may well become the only way to distinguish what is AI generated and what is not.
