Chinatown Antwerp

In contrast to yesterday's photo of Chinatown in Houston, Texas, this is Chinatown in Antwerp, Belgium.

It is more of what I expected Chinatown to look like in Houston with its ornate gate and neon signs. Although this one is not so large, only one or two streets with just a few restaurants and shops.

Between the two, I think you will probably find more authentic Chinese food and imports in the Texas version than the Belgium version.

A night and day difference with yesterday's photo as this photo truly exudes the Chinatown vibe! I am surprised that you found more authentic Chinese food in Houston.

@Steven: It's a pretty big community. I was fortunate to visit with my Chinese friends who ordered a full spread for us.

I like this series of photos about Chinatowns. I also believe that the modern one from yesterday has better food, even though it doesn’t maintain the faithful atmosphere of this one. Innovations are good, even in the kitchen (almost always).
