chapel of the moon

Some experiments are more successful than others.

This was a few weeks ago during the last full moon. I went out on a dog walk with camera hoping to get the moon rising over this little chapel. After waiting way longer than planned, it did rise up and I was even able to align myself so that it was right behind the steeple, but antsy dogs and tricky exposure with no tripod made it challenging. Also there were some streetlights in the bottom of the frame.

This one was exposed for the moon and the chapel was in darkness, pulled up from the RAW image. Gives the idea but was a lot more impressive to witness in person where the photo doesn't do it justice.

The noise reduction gave the underexposed parts a purple glow which I do kinda like.

About 5 years ago, I had a similar opportunity and got one that I did quite like.
