Bad Grannys

This is my first post for the very first Aminus3 Weekly Photo Prompt. The theme this week is Window.

I am going to go out and photograph some more Window inspired images but wanted to get this one out there. I liked this quirky shop window and thought it would be a good entry on the theme.

You've got all week from Saturday to the following Friday to post a photo for the prompt and then a new one will come out every Saturday.

Don't forget to tag your photos with the tag of the week. This week it is am3-prompt-202202.

Here's a bonus question... what do you think about a photo like this in terms of subject?

I see that empty chair and was thinking it would make a much stronger image if there was somebody interesting sitting in that chair, but alas it was empty when I walked past it and so this is the photo. Did you ever skip an image because it was missing something or did you take the shot anyway? I can always go back and visit another time.

A very good theme idea ! Can we post several photos? for yours, I find it very original and worthy of interest even without character in the chair, but if obviously it would have been better with! I often want a character that doesn’t happen, but I still take the photo because it presents other interesting elements.

@Anna Cherer: Appreciate your perspective Anna! I think I also prefer to at least create a photo when inspired even if it is not 100% what I'm envisioning. Film is cheap these days. On the weekly prompts. Things are still a bit experimental till we start doing a few, but I am encouraging people to post more than one photo if they choose as it is a good creative exercise to envision different variations of a single concept.

If there would be a granny on the chair, it would make tension with the label, for sure... But it works well with the title "as is", too. I like all the line geometry here, too.

I like the shot and I will take the shot anyway or maybe not. As you said we can always go back. I will have to look at what the theme is for this coming week. Living in rural Ontario Canada there is not always a lot that might fit in a theme. Thanks for your welcome back on my post :)

I like this photo. It has an interesting perspective with lost of quirky details. Empty chair works for me as well as it is kind of in tune with current times. A lot of places remain empty and a lot so streets remains quiet during the pandemic. Regarding your questions, in these digital days I think I would always take the shot, even if only to analyse later at home and keep as a reference in case I was to return to the same spot again. If it is not a keep then for me it is always good practice and learning.
