Toast for Breakfast

Posted by
Jason Kravitz (Brussels, Belgium) on 26 April 2012 in Lifestyle & Culture.

This kind gentleman offered a piece of toast to my dog on our morning walk and I witnessed something I have never seen - my dog refusing to eat food given to him (and bread at that) - very strange. Perhaps he didn't like that it was toasted.

The horse on the other hand seemed to enjoy the morning treat.

Nice rural scene Jason, yet the houses all look relatively newish.
I think you'll enjoy life here.

thanks Curly - in the 1800's and early 1900's, this whole area was full of glass houses where grapes were grown. Now a days, a lot of the original farms and buildings have been torn down and new modern houses have been built. Its an interesting mix of a few eclectic rural remnants from the old days, and a bunch of big estates and modern houses of today. We are enjoying it so far very much.

Surely a very nice atmosphere there! Nice shot!

Fun shot! It must be breezy too because the rag is blowing on the fense, otherwise it looks so mild and lovely there. I have never known my dogs or parrots to decline a bite of toast, unless I had forgotten to put jelly on it. ?????

This is a fun and interesting shot. I didn't know a dog would ever turn down food, or that a horse would eat toast. ;-)

A lovely shot of the toast eating horse. Interesting about your dog.

as far as I know dogs won't accept food from other people but the people they consider their owners...probably to them it's a prove of loyalty, I don't really know, but our dog did not even accept food from me, but only from my husband, till I worked really hard to gain his affection [such as playing with him, paying attention to him, etc...which I didn't do in the beginning when we first got our dog, due to me not wanting a dog :)) ]
