A Rockwell Moment

Posted by
Jason Kravitz (Brussels, Belgium) on 17 May 2011 in Lifestyle & Culture.

Here is another image of the same scene as yesterday's photo.

It is interesting to see that two photos taken a minute apart can evoke two totally different moods.

Yesterday's image was somewhat subdued and brooding - an old guy sitting by the sea.

Today - we see a Mom and young daughter happily hanging out next to the same man from yesterday who now appears to be the Grandfather of the girl. The whole scene is much ligher and happier and evokes a different emotion than yesterday - would you agree ?

I also experimented with colors and tone so that yesterday was a bit more subdued matching the somber mood and today more saturated and warm.

Hemmingway and Rockwell ... both excellent images, and you're right, such different feelings.

Everyone must be so excited as the weekend approaches ... I'm hoping there will be a link somewhere that can alert us to photos taken over the weekend ... or perhaps a list of the bloggers who attended so that we can find them. ;D

@Judy aka L@dybug: thanks Judy ! It's looking like we may have a small group but should be fun. We'll post some pics and updates.

I like them both, but like the Rockwell look the most. Nice work.

Ha, very clever! I agree with your observations. I noticed, right away, the difference in warmth.
