At Heavenly Lake near Urumqi, this is a ancient place of pilgrimage for Taoists.

A spectacular image from a wonderful vantage point. Sometimes when I'm in a new location I realize that I can't capture the essence of the place because I'm right IN it. The ability to get a distance AWAY, like you have here ... provides the ability to see the long view, practically and metaphorically. I love the gross shapes and the little details. It's especially wonderful how the lit mountain stands out from the darkened background. Bravo! (And I'm envious too!)
