That's near Lawton isn't it? My son did basic training in Ft. Sill which, if I remember right, is very close.
Interesting tones in this shot. It looks like an orchard with the ordered rows of trees.

@Laurie: Hi Laurie - you are correct that it is near Ft. Sill. See Perry's comment after yours for a great description of why they planted these trees.
In the 30's the Dept. of Agriculture was experimenting with ways to hold the top soil on praire land where the grass had been removed so someone came up with the idea of planting Post Oak trees like a crop in rows and then harvest them when they were large enough to make good fence posts. Good idea but it took to long for them to grow and steel "T" posts got so economical the idea was dropped. It's great habitat for all the birds and critters though! Come see the WICHITA WILD LIFE REFUGE.
