Working in Windows (part 2)

Posted by
Jason Kravitz (Brussels, Belgium) on 2 March 2007 in Cityscape & Urban.

Theme: Work (part 1 or 3)

Thanks to Duncan for organizing this excellent theme. For those of you that didn't get to participate, hopefully this is the start of a new aminus3 tradition with many more opportunities to come.

Conceptually I was thinking about blurring the lines between the concept of work. In the Western world, many people have this perception that work is from 9 to 5 doing something less than desirable to make ends meet. The world would probably be very different if everyone could sustain themselves while following their passion.

I love your commentary as much as I love this image! There is some research supporting that people who do what they love for work are more successful in monetary terms, as well as happier and less stressed. What I like about this image is the contrast between the colours outside and those inside - and the static exterior with the very busy interior. Great stuff!

hey, very nice series! I like the idea of people working behind the windows by night! Especially the motion blur makes the pic! Good stuff!

Great composition Jason, nice the motion of the people working, while some of us have a nice time with friends in restaurants, some people are moving from one place to another trying to give the best service they can!

wonderful night shot, especially like the blurred guy on the right seeming to hover over the seated customer, and the blur link back to the people in the left window, working and perhaps, given your commentary, blurs because they are only ghosts of themselves while working .. great approach to the theme, looking forward to tomorrow's

Excellent followup on yesterdays work Jason, I especially like the contrast of the busyness of the guy working behind the bar compared to the relaxing nature of the guy eating his meal. Nice use of exposure.
