I think you posted this.... I remember seeing this scene somewhere.

Opps, It is not vertical, horizon is off. You should have caught that. Unless your intent was to have it tilted, then you should have tilted even more. Just my honest opinion, hope you are not offended.

This shot is totally surreal, I love it. It almost looks like you added in the sky. I think you might have captured the 'witching' hour on said street.

@Ella Cooper: This was taken right around sunset and it is an HDR (combo of 3 exposures) which is how I captured the great sky but kept the details in the buildings and street.
Truth be told, I am not quite impressed. The sky looks very artificial: it is clearly darker in the center and lighter where it borders the houses and the leaves. I felt you selected the sky, but failed to select it's entirety, and adjusted the color. Also, the subject is unclear and the it is tilted. Sorry to be so blunt, but I am very confident that you can do better!

@Kelvin Chan: Kelvin - I appreciate the feedback. This was one of my first HDR attempts (created a few months ago) and I agree that it is a bit overdone. Since then, I started using a much more subtle effect that brings out the colors without looking artificial. This was the way the sky looked although a bit saturated. Anway... thanks for your honest words! Maybe I'll go take another from this street and see what I can do :)
Nice try at HDR but it really isn't working for me. It's because I don't know which subject to focus on. It's like the colorful sky vs the buildings.

Intersting HDR, you know what spoils it for me though, the sky. Just feels out of place for me, apart from that, good shot.

Looks great but I think the HDR effect is just slightly overdone ... has an unreal feeling to it. Cool shot though, definitely worth posting.

If I had a band , this picture would be the cover of my album.Great!

The sky looks like a movie apocalypse is about to fall upon us...is that what everyone is talking about with the HDR?

I disagree with people's comments that the sky is overdone. People are drawn to this image because of its surreal quality. If it was just a perfect little photo of the street you would not have receive so many responses.... ;)
(Ok - what does HDR stand for?) I'm curious to see if this feature exists on my camera...wonder if it could work for evening dance shots....

@Ella Cooper: Thanks Ella
I meant to answer this question earlier for those that don't know...
HDR stands for High Dynamic Range and is not an in camera feature but a post processing feature. The idea is that you take multiple photos of the same scene (tripod works best here) and then merge them together in software using a program like Photomatix. By combining multiple exposures you get the most dynamic range because you are taking data from different sources.
This helps with the problem of taking a photo of a landscape with a blown out sky or any other exposure situation where it is not possible to get the full dynamic range of what your eye sees with your camera.
It is possible to create an HDR from one image. If you camera supports RAW images this is preferred since you can process a RAW image multiple times creating on darker image and one lighter image and then blend these with the HDR software.
Since you are taking action shots (dancers) it would probably be best to try the HDR from one shot since multiple shots would be hard to get the dancers in the same position.
Excellent! Your design in this photo drew me in. I wanted to know more about this place. Thanks for sharing!

Great shot! I can almost feel the humidity in the air... Definitely agree with Ella Cooper, the surreal aspect of this photo is what makes it stand out.
