Red Poppy & D-Day

Posted by Jason Kravitz (Brussels, Belgium) on 6 June 2009 in Plant & Nature.

Ian Bramham's post today about D-Day and the symbolism of the Red Poppy reminded me of this field of poppy's I saw recently while driving through North Carolina.

As Ian wrote on his post
The red poppy that you can see in the drawing is the flower used in the UK to remember those who lost their lives in both world wars and in other conflicts since.
