The Bikers

The Moment
This is by far my favorite of the series. Rather than walking and shooting, I took a position from a high vantage point looking down over this street. This was taken on No Car Day in Brussels so many people were riding bikes through the streets. The sun was getting low and creating dramatic long shadows. These two boys were crossing the street. I tried to play on the lines and shadows, using them to form patterns in the frame. I also really like the different textures and alternating areas of bright and dark created by the crosswalk and cobble stones.
