Urban Eagle

Posted by Jason Kravitz (Brussels, Belgium) on 4 October 2006 in Plant & Nature.

One thing I have not found since I've moved to Beglium are interesting birds. We used to have a red shoulder hawk nest in our back yard in Atlanta but in the city of Brussels you don't find too many birds besides pigeons and seagulls. This was a bald eagle on display at Photokina in Germany. It is hard to tell from this photo but the bird was huge - about 1 meter (3 ft) high and it's wing span had to be close to 2m (6ft).
